I am not a fan of shellfish not because I am too lazy to remove the shells but it's because I just don't like it.  I guess I haven't had the liking for shellfish, be they cockles, mussels or even clams, ever since I was a kid.  I guess the real reason why I have a dislike for them is due to an unpleasant childhood experience.

There is something about fermented durian flesh (tempoyak) that really makes me enjoy eating it.  Some people find it strange that I don't eat the fresh durian flesh, but instead go for the fermented one, which wreaks a lot more odor, with gusto!

This is indeed a slow month for me, where cooking and making entries regarding them are concerned.  Again, as mentioned before, this new school year has got me bogged down with tonnes of work; those that are already specified in my list of duties and the ad hoc ones that seem to appear out of nowhere, all of a sudden.

It's been a busy first week of school this new year and it's not surprising that this is only my second entry for January 2013.  Too much focus on work (which is not a bad thing, I guess) has taken up most of my time.  Even when I am at home, I am already too tired to do anything else, but to lie down and relax my aching muscles and mind!

It is really amusing to me when once in a while I find something different in the nearby supermarket.  You know the feeling of excitement when a small kid gets a new toy!  That's how I felt when I noticed the supermarket selling Ricotta!  Those of you fortunate enough to get a variety of cheeses in your local supermarket would probably laugh at me for being happy at the sight of a mere Ricotta!
