There were a few guys mowing the sprawling lawn of the students' residence where I was staying that day.  It was early noon and I suppose, all of them were hungry for their lunch break.  They actually took me by surprise when one of them looked through my kitchen window, and commented that something smelled great from the kitchen!  I was cooking Minestrone that day!

Every time I eat Nasi Dagang I hear Rosmaria Abdul Hamid singing the song titled "Nasi Dagang" in my head.  I will not tell you about the origins of Nasi Dagang but suffice to say that it is one of my favourite dishes, especially the fish gravy.

If there is one type of protein that I love more than any other type, it must be fish.  I eat fish six days a week and on one of those days when my wife decides to cook chicken or beef or anything else other than fish, I would still want fish as a side dish.

Okay!  I'm guilty!  We're only just into the second week of Eid, but there are days when I simply cannot get myself to get up early to prepare food to fill my lunch box.  Sometimes I find it difficult to wake up early simply because I had to sleep late the night before and also because sometimes I feel to too lazy to take out the frying pan in the morning and prepare food from scratch.

OMG! It's been more than a month since I last posted in this blog, and I really need to write about something.  So, I guess I'll write about something I remember as a kid.  I remember the last time I made a proper pie was when I was in Form Five.  I had actually made it for my family to have for tea.  But it was quite unexpected when a cousin of mine dropped by that day and my mum served him a slice of the pie I had baked.
